Welcome to Lakeland Karting

WHAT WE DO: 550m outdoor go-kart track. Petrol go-karts. Excellent for family and friends groups, birthday
parties, hen & stag dos, team building sessions, youth groups. Whatever your age you will enjoy
our track.
We have 3 different types of kart – our junior kart, our cadet kart and our adult kart. Suitable from
7 years up depending on height and ability. (Novice drivers may be assessed before entering race
track to ensure that they can safely drive and manage the kart. Drivers should be able to reach the
pedals comfortably and understand how to operate the go-kart)
We have a small range of tuck shop items and we can also recommend some local places for
something more substantial.
Spectators can view the racing from behind the fence line. We love to see support for all our
racers!

PRACTICE SESSIONS: These sessions are suitable for any number of drivers but are most popular with family groups, small groups (less than 10 drivers) and groups where there are mixed abilities (i.e. novice and
experienced drivers)
These sessions are based on lap time and after each session we bring everyone into the pit lane,
tell them their best lap time and also some tips to improve it.
Very popular with family groups where juniors may be on track with adults. The junior drivers get a
time bonus which when taken off their lap time means they can be competitive with the adults.

Price for practice sessions:
2 x 10 min timed session £25 per person
3 x 10 min timed session £33 per person

Grand Prix Sessions are suitable for groups of 8+ drivers. We have a number of different options:

£30 per person

  • Mini Grand Prix
  • 6 min Qualifying session
  • 1 x 5 lap F1 style grid race
  • 1 x 5 lap F1 style grid race (semi final)
  • 1 x 6 lap F1 style grid race Final (qualifying drivers)

£40 per person

  • F1 Grand Prix
  • 8 min Qualifying session
  • 1 x 8 lap F1 style grid race
  • 1 x 8 lap F1 style grid race (semi final)
  • 1 x 10 lap F1 style grid race (qualifying drivers)

£50 per person

  • F1 Grand Prix Special
  • 6 min Practice session
  • 8 min Qualifying session
  • 2 x 5 lap F1 style grid race
  • 1 x 6 lap F1 style grid race semi final (all drivers)
  • 1 x 10 lap F1 style grid race Final (qualifying drivers)

All drivers must wear a helmet, gloves and balaclava when on the track. Reusable gloves and balaclavas can be purchased from our office upon arrival (cost is £1.50 for each item – £3.00 for both)

HOW TO BOOK
All races must be pre-booked.
We are open Monday – Saturday including evenings for bookings. We are closed Sunday.

DRIVING RESTRICTIONS: We offer racing from age 7 up, however all drivers (regardless of age) should be at least 115cm tall. We ensure all drivers are safely able to operate their kart before leaving the pit lane. Safety is one of our priorities.
All drivers will be required to complete our sign in form before racing – this can be done online. The link will be sent through to you upon booking.

At Lakeland Karting we do our best to ensure everyone has an enjoyable and safe experience. We try our best to help all drivers (particularly younger, novice drivers) to improve their driving skills while with us. Our ethos is to be encouraging and helpful to all participants.
